If “idle hands are the devil’s workshop,”
then let’s keep the hands or our youth busy. We have worked with churches, Chicago based and national organizations, and educators to compile a comprehensive calendar of events to keep our youth active, engaged, and occupied with positive and enriching events.
If you are an organization, church, etc. and have scheduled events that our community should know about, we encourage you to add those events to our free calendar. The calendar is made available to all
visitors and it will also be distributed periodically through an email newsletter highlighting upcoming events and job opportunities for our kids.
Our goal is to have 10,000 subscribers to the FREE No Idle Hands newsletter by the end of
2009.
Please help us accomplish this goal and get the positive word out.
Why is there a need for this newsletter/event calendar?
Since the school year began in the fall of 2007, students of the Chicago Public School system have been dying at an alarming rate
from drugs and violent crime. We believe that some of these casualties could have been thwarted if only our children were made more aware of the many entertaining and positive outlets at their disposal. As a community, it is our obligation to provide the information that could not only lead to the preservation of life, but empowerment. Help us make a stand today so that our children do not continue to fall victim to senseless violence. They are our future so let’s do what we can to make sure they are around for it.
